About the role:

  

Type: Full Time Salaried

Compensation: Range is $196,000 to $294,000, but we are not targeting above $257,000. 40% bonus

Location: Fully Remote, must be in the United States 

Hours: Full Time Days

What to Expect: 

As the VP of Product Engineering, you will oversee a team of engineers within the Technology department. Your leadership will be pivotal in developing innovative solutions that facilitate supporting new and existing products. This role collaborates closely with the Product team to implement a product-led strategy and significantly enhance client offerings and is responsible for ensuring the successful execution of the company’s mission through development and deployment of the company’s products. Further, given that Matrix is in a growth and transformation mode, we will look to you to analyze our bench strength and determine any decisions needed to build out the highest performing team possible.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with leadership to define and execute the 3-5 year technical and product roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
  • Oversee the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality solutions that meet customer requirements and market demands
  • Support an efficient planning process by creating technical designs that achieve the platform capabilities envisioned by product leadership
  • Spearhead technical initiatives, exploring new technologies to advance our products and yield a competitive advantage. Proactively identify and build technical and data management capabilities that will enable AI and analytics initiatives.
  • Evaluate and optimize use of contract and offshore labor to access external expertise which drives down the cost of delivery and enables flexibility for scale
  • Operate as the owner that is responsible for building and advancing the new technology around our current and future solutions
  • Support the development and timely delivery of organization solutions and investments
  • Implement strategies to achieve engineering excellence, tracking key metrics to improve efficiency and satisfaction
  • Communicate technology strategy to partners and key stakeholders
  • Apply knowledge of healthcare operations, risk adjustment, population health, and clinical data integration to product roadmap discussions

Qualifications

Must Haves:

  • Bachelor of Computer Science, Engineering or a related field; MBA or other relevant graduate degree is a plus
  • Proven experience as an Engineering VP or similar leadership role
  • Proven leadership experience within a dynamic organization of 1,000+ Familiarity with consumer-facing tech products, omnichannel consumer engagement, mobile productivity applications, field service optimization, clinical decision support systems, healthcare provider and payer systems, healthcare clinical & claims data, and applications that work with HIPAA PHI will also be an advantage
  • Knowledge of current technological trends to build strategy including a strong grasp on the technology of tomorrow
  • Experience driving the successful execution of technical delivery, from conceptualization to go-to-market, in collaboration with Product and Executive Leadership Team
  • Hands on knowledge of the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from ideation to launch, ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality cloud solutions that meet customer requirements and market demands.
  • Experience growing the maturity of teams by teaching agile development methodologies and measuring process improvement with metrics.
  • Experience building trusted partnerships with key stakeholders across the organization, including Product, Sales and Marketing, to ensure successful product launches and ongoing customer satisfaction
  • Leadership experience creating an optimal engineering environment, setting technical standards and fostering interdepartmental collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to facilitate data-driven decision-making, with a proven track record of iteration and experimentation
  • An understanding of modern development concepts, methodologies, and architectures. Relevant concepts include public cloud architectures, containerization, data lake architectures, QA automation, CI/CD, deidentifying healthcare data for lower environments, and MLOps
