The Vice President, Product & Marketing will be responsible for developing new product solutions, identifying growth opportunities, refining existing product portfolios and executing new product initiatives to meet Matrix’s growth goals and strategy.   This role will also develop and streamline a process to bring products to market rapidly and efficiently, execute marketing strategies and sales alignment to achieve company growth objectives and drive product success and profitability.  The individual in this position will consistently evaluate the market’s demands and evolving environment to continually innovate and introduce new products and services.

The Vice President, Product & Marketing will be charged with leading the development of innovative products and solutions with the goal of improving patient access to care and health plan financial performance, while growing top line revenue.  Success will be measured by product revenue generation, market uptake and client satisfaction from Matrix’s products and services.



  • Understand Matrix’s current and evolving business goals and translate them into a maintainable product vision and roadmap.
  • Define the organization's new product objectives and initiatives; determine the long-term vision and direction toward that destination for the product.
  • Take responsibility for new product solutions and service definitions and drive development on time, on budget, and with high quality and value.
  • Build and lead a team to create effective solutions for key customers.
  • Collaborate with both clinical and operational teams to build the best experience for customers.
  • Ensure that the team has a portfolio of best-in-class offerings through identification of the product strategy and market requirements by coordinating market research, competitive analysis and capturing requirements from customers and prospects. 
  • Continue to refresh the product features, benefits and value ads from concept and design to development and deployment.
  • Ensure the product team consistently delivers user-centric experiences developed with measureable goals, grounded in needs, supported by data, in an iterative fashion.
  • Establish product development processes, best practices, and policies and a product management culture within the organization.
  • Oversee the Corporate Marketing team – directing marketing, communications, branding/image, positioning, product marketing, sales support and digital strategies.
  • Create a strong focus on the development of people, optimizing individual and organizational performance.  Develop an operating culture, which ensures that team members are focused, engaged, rewarded, and productive.
  • Develop alliances and strategic relationships with key partners.  Proactively monitor key relationships.
  • Provide leadership and exercise decision-making regarding priorities, best practices, methodologies, and operational execution.


10 years of broad-based, progressive executive experience.

Must possess a broad understanding of healthcare.  (Including, payor, provider, and life sciences/medical device and from a variety of environments such as consulting, early-stage companies and/or large public corporations.)

Experience in sales, marketing, branding, finance, national accounts, or operations.  Significant experience in product/solutions development is essential.

  • Strong executive presence and ability to clearly discuss and communicate product value and benefits.  
  • Ability to develop and nurture a team of seasoned product managers and developers.
  • The leadership skills to influence others in a matrix organization and infuse them with a passion for the proposed products and services.
  • Demonstrated experience leading inspirationally with a commitment to common goals and vision.
  • The ability to anticipate and lead change through the organization, equipping people to adapt quickly.
  • The capacity to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and group presentation skills.  Comfortable presenting at C-level, both externally and internally.
  • The ability to effectively maintain/build relationships across business groups.
  • Structure business disciplines to facilitate quick and fact-based decisions while ensuring accountability for execution.
  • Experience maximizing customer linkages and aligning resources with strategic priorities.
  • Experience in both upstream product definition and downstream product development and execution.
  • A successful history of providing strategic and tactical direction to evolve and grow a market leading portfolio of healthcare solutions.




  • Bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree preferred (e.g. MBA).
