Position Summary


The Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for providing hands-on support to Matrix associates pre and post hire. This role will be responsible for the maintenance of all staff data within our HR systems as well as supporting various benefit processes and a variety of projects.  Must be done to ensure data integrity for the optimal experience for both the staff as well as reporting metrics required for company analytics.

 Organizational contributions 

This role will have the opportunity to own their processes in partnership with the HR Business Partner for the area they support.  Will also require effective communication with internal/external cross-functional teams. Must demonstrate a track record of excellent communicaton, accuracy, follow-up, and time management skills.


  • Reviews and processes all submitted demographic and position data for employees / contractors using established approved guidelines and procedures.
  • Organizes, tracks and monitors accurate and timely receipt, submission, and file maintenance of new hire documentation, changes, reviews, terminations, etc.
  • Role will also be responsible for supporting various benefit administration processes.
  • Monitors compliance for all submissions in relation to company guidelines and standards
  • Produces and distributes standard and ad hoc reports using appropriate reporting tools
  • Processes I-9 and e-Verify, ensuring compliance with required timelines, as well as maintains ongoing compliance with destruction of forms as needed
  • Conducts audits and maintains integrity of data systems and document files
  • Helps with ongoing training and support of new and existing users on the HR/Payroll system
  • Establishes and maintains up to date process and procedure documentation and recommends process improvements.
  • Interfaces with various internal departments such as HR Business Partners, Payroll, Recruitment, Credentialing as well as third party vendors.
  • Participates in planning and testing of HR/Payroll system conversions and updates
  • Assist with special projects and acts as backup to other HR administrative roles
  • Other duties as assigned


Educational Requirements:



Associates Degree in Business, Human Resources or equivalent work experience preferred.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience as a Human Resources or Payroll specialist in a high volume environment
  • Demonstrated knowledge of federal and state HR regulations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency of HR/PR processes, data and systems; UltiPro experience a plus
  • Ability to drive processes forward in clear, concise and appropriate manner
  • Ideal candidate must have strong critical thinking ability, organizational, time management and problem solving skills. Must take ownership and accountability of processes.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy and thoroughness
  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and multi-task in a high volume environment while adhering to strict deadlines
  • Is action oriented and sees challenges as opportunities for growth and positive development of self, others and processes
  • Demonstrated ability and commitment to excellent customer service and to developing and maintaining effective working relationships with internal and external clients
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications, including, Outlook, Word and Excel

Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibilities.


Travel Requirements: No travel required.
