Overview

Systems Administrator - IT Support 

 

The Systems Administrator provides second level IT support to our Arizona and Florida offices, in addition to our remote workforce in accordance with policies and procedures as established by the organization. The Systems Administrator is responsible for the execution of planned projects and reacting to unplanned incidents that occur on a daily basis, managing time appropriately to complete both types of task. The position requires technical troubleshooting abilities, customer service skills, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Administration of production systems in a predominantly Microsoft Windows environment
  • Proactively monitor and maintain the IT environment and react to unplanned events as they arise
  • Configure, install and maintain new desktops and laptops, peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, routers, switches, ensuring correct security and functional requirements are met
  • Provide second level technical support for the organization
  • Configure and maintain corporate phone systems
  • Work closely with the IT Service Desk, picking up assigned work, and providing timely feedback during execution and completion
  • Support users in their day-to-day use of company IT resources, using innovative solutions to minimize down-time and maximize user productivity
  • Perform all work in accordance with established Service Level Agreements
  • Implement corporate system security policies and procedures including rights to all systems and network resources within the Company
  • Coordinate with outside service providers for installation, repair and maintenance of equipment
  • Research and develop new solutions and process improvements to ensure prompt and accurate resolution of technical challenges and business issues
  • Partner with appropriate teams to conduct and oversee root cause analysis on mission critical or service level failures
  • Troubleshoot performance problems with applications, networks, servers
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

 

Educational Requirements:

B.S. or a B.A. college degree preferred and/or equivalent work experience in a System Administrator role.

MCSE or other MS certifications

A+ or similar IT certification (Required)

Microsoft Certified Profesional Certification (Preferred)

 

Required Skills and Abilities:

    • Minimum of 4 years technical support experience in a corporate environment required
    • 2+ years experience with Windows Server, Exchange, Active Directory, Group Policies, Windows permissions and Windows desktops (Windows 7 and up)
    • Knowledge of these systems (preferred):
    • Microsoft Active Directory management
    • Microsoft Office suite of applications
    • Microsoft Software Deployment Services
    • Laptop and desktop hardware
    • SysAid Service Desk Ticketing System or equivalent ticketing system.
    • Five9 Call Center
    • Proficiency with network infrastructure (security, VPN, routing/switching)
    • Cisco VoIP phone systems
    • Symantec Endpoint Protectio

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to rapidly learn new technology and applications
  • Ability to work well in a team atmosphere
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to cover specific service and support shifts and manage a large number of end-user requests
  • Mature and self-motivated professional able to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment
  • Regular work schedules may not reflect normal business hours
  • This position does provide afterhours support on an on-call rotation

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires prolonged sitting
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate technical equipment, keyboard, telephone, copier, calculator and other office equipment
  • Must be able to communicate information via telephone or computer
  • Requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity of the job
