Production Planning Specialist 


Seeking Supply Chain Management Professionals 


The Production Planning Specialist position requires a hands-on individual working in the capacity and demand planning of Matrix clinical resources. This position is responsible for ensuring Corporate and Client production goals are met and reported on a daily, monthly, and annual basis. Applies critical decision making skills to solve challenges with Supply/Demand. The specialist will also be required to work in tandem with the Production Control team to ensure that production goals are executed accordingly.

This position requires progressive experience and responsibilities in a production environment, as well as solid understanding of production processes. The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for building, modifying, and maintaining new and robust capacity and demand planning models.  The specialist will be responsible for generating reports and summarizing key information to the executive management team. 


Specific roles and responsibilities of the Production Planning Specialist are inclusive of, but not limited to:

  • Communicate with Account Management on Client demands, manage the client production orders, client risk, production progress and all additional services needed
  • Build and maintain production and capacity forecast for assigned states.
  • Automate reporting and tracking tools using SQL and Tableau
  • Implement, automate, and maintain production and capacity tools that can be used across the department.
  • Must be able to identify any potential challenge that may derail production schedules and work with production control to immediately drive action to find solutions
  • Generate capacity and production Ad hoc reports for internal and external stake holders
  • Provide strategic analysis and make recommendations for continuous improvement initiatives
  • Preparing executive level communicating regarding production and capacity
  • Other Duties as Assigned


Educational Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Finance, Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Computer Science, Economics or equivalent in-depth specialized training program.


Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in forecasting, workforce management, production assessment, production control, material control of scheduling function in an assessment environment or equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience and advanced proficiency of Microsoft SQL Management Studio and Microsoft VBA preferred
  • Minimum 1 year experience and advanced proficiency of Tableau preferred
  • Strong analytical skills, with an aptitude for understanding business environment and translating business requirements
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments, prioritize activities, and meet established goals in a rapidly changing environment
  • Statistical analysis background preferred with demonstrated understanding of statistical concepts (regression, correlation, analysis of variance, etc.)
  • Superior communication skills (both written and verbal) and ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with internal & external business partners
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure and time constraints
  • Advanced ability in math and computer skills
  • Tableau and statistical program (Minitab, R, SAS etc.) experience preferred


Supervisory Responsibility: No supervisory responsibilities.


Travel Requirements: Ocassional travel may be required.


Work Conditions: General office environment.
