   The Social Media Manager is responsible for all of Matrix’s social media efforts including administering and managing the organization’s social media accounts, working with external vendors on executing the social media strategy (including the creation and delivery of original written and video content) and documenting and measuring all initiatives through the appropriate media platforms.


   This role will manage our company image in a cohesive way to achieve Matrix’s marketing goals and will stay up-to-date with the latest digital technologies and social media trends. The Social Media Manager must have excellent communication skills and be able to express our company’s views creatively. Ultimately, they will handle the Matrix social media presence by ensuring high levels of social and web traffic as well as industry, consumer and recruiting engagement.



  • Work closely with external vendor(s) to manage multiple online communities by reviewing and responding to user-generated comments and posts in a quick and timely manner to foster a positive community and add value to the user's experience
  • Collaborate with other teams including Human Resources, Sales, and Member Engagement to ensure message and brand consistency
  • Work with external vendor(s) and internal marketing team to generate, edit, publish and share engaging content daily (e.g. original text, photos, videos and news)
  • Work with Director, Marketing & Communications to set specific objectives and report on ROI
  • Perform research on current benchmark trends and audience preferences
  • Monitor Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and web traffic metrics
  • Communicate with followers, respond to queries in a timely manner, and monitor customer reviews
  • Oversee social media account design (e.g. Facebook timeline cover, profile pictures and blog layout)
  • Stay up-to-date with current technologies and trends in social media, design tools and applications
  • Perform other assigned tasks and duties as necessary



Educational Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree with an emphasis in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or English.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • 3-5 years proven experience as a Social Media lead in a corporate or business equivalent environment
  • Hands on experience in content management
  • Excellent copywriting skills
  • Strong written and oral communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills, as the Social Media Manager will collaborate with stakeholders across the business.
  • Ability to deliver creative content (text, image and video)
  • Solid knowledge of Search Engine Optimization (SEO), keyword research, and analytics (Google, Hootsuite, HEAP, etc.)
  • Knowledge of online marketing channels 
  • Familiarity with web design
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Analytical and multitasking skills
  • Self-starter and able to work independently in a deadline-oriented environment
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Effectively communicate to diverse external and internal audiences.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite including Power Point, Excel programs and IT tools/processes to accomplish external and internal communication goals and objectives
