    As an Echo Vascular Technologist in a rapidly expanding organization, you will be given the opportunity to perform non-invasive diagnostic tests with state-of-the-art equipment on one of our mobile clinical units. Working alongside expert clinicians, you will be able to utilize your specific skill set to offer awareness, education and preventive health tests.     The Echo Vascular Technologist’s (EVT) main responsibility is to execute tests to monitor the body’s circulatory system. The EVT will conduct studies as ordered by physicians, nurse practitioners, and/or physician assistants to aid in diagnosis and treatment of heart, lung, and blood vessel disorders by conducting non-invasive diagnostic tests of cardiovascular and pulmonary systems; as well as abdominal and small parts as needed. This includes maintaining mobile unit equipment, and the recording of test results.


    • Performs non-invasive ultrasound studies as required by following Matrix approved protocols and procedures. Including but not limited to peripheral, echocardiograms, carotid artery abdominal and aorta ultrasounds within and quality control protocols


    • Complete electronic medical records (EMR) according to Matrix guidelines
    • Conduct EMR Quality Check of all medical records and patient data
    • Assist in setup and breakdown of daily mobile unit events
    • Communicate critical medical findings with reading physicians, nurse practitioners or physician assistants serving as the lead clinician onsite, as well as the unit manager and designated others
    • Communicate equipment problems to unit manager, fleet manager and designated others
    • Stock examination rooms with supplies
    • Display client educational material in examination room
    • Clean and disinfect examination rooms, examination beds, and equipment throughout and at the end of each day
    • Adhere to Company and Healthcare Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) policies and procedures
    • Assist team members with educating members/patients on the benefits of HealthFair tests
    • Assist with Medical Screening Technician (MST) responsibilities when needed
    • Maintain positive control of all PHI information
    • Participates in all mandatory compliance and other training programs, seeks guidance for compliance-related concerns and adheres to all applicable laws, regulations and Matrix policies and procedures
    • Other duties as required





    Educational Requirements:

    Associate’s Degree in Non-Invasive Cardiology, Non-Invasive Echo Cardiology, Non-Invasive Vascular Cardiology or similar field

    Required for Sonographers to be registered in one or more of the sonography specialties by the American Registry of Medical Sonographers (ARDMS):

    • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT): Required
    • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDCS): Preferred but not required
    • CPR certification (infant, child, adult)  minimum required; BLS or ACLS Preferred
    • Current TB or PPD and Flu vaccines required



    Required Skills and Abilities:


    • One (1) to three (3) years of clinical experience, including at least one (1) to two (2) years of experience with echocardiogram studies
    • Ability to maintain a 95 % or better acceptance rate and an 80% or better proficiency rate
    • Proven knowledge of cardiovascular procedures
    • Possess knowledge and experience in electrocardiography (EKGs) and ability to perform quality and compete echocardiogram studies
    • Demonstrated ability to accurately document a patient's medical history in an EMR and to report technical information to other health care clinicians, as well as patients
    • Demonstrates safe work practices appropriate to position; i.e., how to report a safety hazard, proper body mechanics, or use of personal protective equipment
    • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills; ability to communicate to all levels throughout the organization using written, verbal and listening skills
    • Uses logical methods to solve problems with effective solutions; looks beyond the obvious for solutions
    • Outstanding teamwork and multitasking skills; ability to thrive and prioritize in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment
    • Passion for working with members/patients, changing lives with a comforting and professional bedside manner
    • Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of both external and internal customers, acts with customers in mind by exhibiting professionalism and courteousness
    • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, and use time effectively and efficiently; concentrates efforts on priorities with detail and strong organizational skills
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, including, Outlook, Word and Excel, and SharePoint

    Travel Requirements: May be asked to travel, state to state, overnight, or for weeks at a time.


    Physical and Psychological Demands:

    • Requires prolonged sitting, bending, stooping, kneeling, and/or stretching from seated or standing positions
    • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate medical equipment, computers other office equipment
    • Requires close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust visual focus, hearing and smelling
    • Must be able to communicate information via telephone or computer
    • Requires moderate to intense concentration due to complexity of the job
    • Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to observe “Universal Precautions” for blood-borne pathogens and body fluids
