    Position Summary: 

      

    The IT Business Analyst is responsible for working with internal and external clients to define requirements for new systems or requirements for changes to existing systems.  The Business Analyst will take ownership in ensuring system designs and implementations match requirements and will participate in high-level discussions regarding scope and alternative designs. 

    Responsibilities

    • Work with business stakeholders, and end users to identify and document requirements for IT system development
    • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, storyboards, business process analysis, use cases or user stories, scenarios, and workflow analysis
    • Work closely with Development and IT Leadership to review and approve design and test case documentation to ensure compliance with requirements and business goals
    • Lead, Create, Perform UAT efforts
    • Review and approve software test plans
    • Create User Interface mockups
    • Write requirements specifications according to standard templates, using natural language simply, clearly, unambiguously, and concisely
    • Manage changes to baselined requirements through effective and appropriate application of change control processes and tools
    • Manage the creation and use of requirements trace information
    • Independently analyze systems and business processes, to gain existing process understanding and lead requirement gathering sessions
    • Leads complex working sessions with key stakeholders for large/multi-functional projects
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and actively promote business change
    • Assist business solution owner to create business roadmaps
    • Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the IT Delivery application in the assigned communities
    • Participate in peer reviews and inspections of requirements documents
    • Create or update user documentation that supports system functionality
    • Evaluate, design, propose, and implement new or improved tools, templates, and processes to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Business Analyst domain.
    • Other duties as assigned

    Qualifications

    Educational Requirements:

     

    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in a relevant discipline

     

    Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

    • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst (Work in a related area can be taken into consideration)
    • 5+ years of experience with all Microsoft Office Tools (must include Excel and Visio)
    • 2+ years of experience with SQL Server
    • Proficient understanding and ability to operate inside an Agile or Waterfall Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
    • Leadership skills, to create a collaborative environment and influence people to move toward a common goal
    • Interviewing and questioning skills, to talk with individuals and groups about their needs and ask the right questions to surface essential requirements information
    • Commuinucation skills, to communicate information effectively and in the appropriate form to customers, businesss users and technical staff
    • Interpersonal skills, to build strong working relationships with other team members and customers
    • Organizational skills, to monitor and track multiple projects and the associated tasks simultaneously and cope with rapidly changing information and circumstances
    • Ability to work in a self directed enviornment

    Preferred Skills and Abilities:

    • Healthcare experience preferred, specifically Medicare Advantage, Care Management, and/or Pharmacy
    • Experience with knowledge of industry regulations: HIPAA, HITECH, HiTrust, etc. 

    Supervisory Responsibility:

    • Will not have direct reports but may be required to mentor business analyst or provide first level of support for business analyst
