    Summary:

    The Director, Operations Excellence plays a critical role in ensuring that our organization continuously focuses on delivering operational improvements and financial benefits to the company to significantly impact productivity, quality, profitability and customer experience.


    This role is responsible for leading, managing and driving cross-functional complex process/productivity improvement initiatives; this position also plays a critical role in leading all processes involved in generating new ideas, taking ideas from its initial conception through its realization and turning the ideas into revenue.

     

    This position includes leading multi-disciplined teams, influencing a broad scope of cross-functional resources and other key value adds required as necessary to meet aggressive business top and bottom line objectives.

    The candidate must have the ability to apply business knowledge in formulating process improvement solutions and exhibit leadership in program management, process optimization and implementation, technology and organizational change to achieve results.

     

     

     

    Responsibilities

    Organizational contributions:

    • Track projects across business enterprise and propel measurable improvements in productivity for all on-going and upcoming projects.
    • Provide monthly reporting on progress for leadership consumption.

    • PMO
    • Department heads
    • Executive leadership

    Responsibilities and Deliverables

    • Lead Process Improvement efforts to achieve productivity gains. Lead and drive, cross-functional complex process improvement projects and Kaizen events to deliver significant operational improvement and financial benefits.
    • Identify areas/potential projects where process redesign/improvement can significantly impact productivity and quality.
    • Work closely with Business Partners to ensure that process improvement projects support the business strategic priorities.
    • Educate and promote a culture of continuous improvement across the enterprise. Collaborate with Business Partners/Sponsors to drive results.  Act as a change agent to instill continuous improvement culture throughout the organization. 
    • Assist the business in the development of key project metrics and KPIs. Monitors performance and improvements in those key metrics.
    • Plan and manage successful project execution and implementation. Define process improvement roles and responsibilities for projects to include the assignment of a combination of Business Partner and operational excellence team resources. 
    • Develop requirements for project planning efforts.
    • Guide selection of appropriate process improvement methodology for projects.
    • Coach and mentor the organization in the conduct of Lean Six Sigma projects or Kaizen events.
    • Guide Business Partners’ process improvement practitioners in the conduct of projects or other improvement efforts.
    • Support project feasibility and business case development, matching projects to the strategic priorities of the Business Partners.
    • Determine applicability of project ideas to strategic plans and priorities.
    • Identify and engage with Business Partners' Leadership and Process Improvement practitioners.
    • Clear understanding of the idea generation process and the relationship between the operational requirements of the business, corporate strategy and clients’ needs
    • Works closely with Productivity Portfolio Management, Black Belts and others to transform best ideas into profitable projects
    • Lead brainstorming, ideation and rapid piloting sessions
    • Lead the design of metrics and KPIs for all new ideas selected as part of the productivity projects portfolio.
    • Monitoring achievement of strategic, financial and operational benefits, ensuring planned business outcomes are achieved and helping to adjust programs if necessary
    • Interacts with project team to ensure efforts are aligned to a common objective and serves as a point of contact for support of the project team’s questions and discussions
    • Other duties as assigned

     

    Qualifications

     

    Education Requirements

    • Bachelor Degree in relevant field
    • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certified required
    • PMP Certified, Agile Project Management Experience preferred

      

    Required Skills and Abilities

    • Demonstrated LSS and DFSS Black Belt application
    • 8+ years’ experience in process improvement/optimization, operational excellence, and/or idea generation management.
    • Excellent presentation and communication skills
    • Dynamic, outgoing individual with strong interpersonal skills
    • Ability to deal effectively and professionally with people at all organization levels
    • Ability to conduct work planning and prioritization of resources
    • Financial acumen and budgeting experience with project level financials
    • Committed to innovation, process improvement and process management
    • Experience in analyzing complex data and generating solutions from that analysis
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapt to ever-changing business requirements and organization priorities, and meet aggressive deadlines
    • Successfully engage in multiple initiatives simultaneously
    • Ability to create professional and effective working relationships with the business subject matter experts
    • Experience in healthcare preferred
