    Payroll Timekeeper (Temp to Hire)

    The Payroll Timekeeper position plays a vital role in our Finance department. This position is responsible for timely and accurate review of time records. Daily review of timesheets, work charts, and allocations of time.  Time may be calculated by hours, production, piece work, and exception time.  Creating and running reports for review, audit, and compliance.

     

    This role may also act as a backup for all activities necessary to process full-cycle payroll, including maintaining related records, running voluntary deduction reports, processing involuntary deductions such as levies
    and garnishments, preparing reports and documents, processing off cycle manual checks and bi-weekly payroll.

    Responsibilities

    • Daily review of time entry system to ensure accuracy and completeness of all timecards.
    • Correspond with employees and supervisors via email and phone to obtain missing or incorrect information and approval of timesheets.
    • Data entry of prior pay period timecard adjustments.
    • Review and resolve outstanding PTO holds and requests not completed by supervisors.
    • Perform basic clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.
    • Create, administer, and distribute reports.
    • Be the main point of instruction/training contact to employees and management regarding timekeeping.
    • Create time export for payroll processing.
    • System administration of timekeeping system.
    • Collaborate with other departments to create efficiency and process improvements.
    • Coordination between payroll, human resources, and other departments to ensure proper flow and
      maintenance of employee/contractor data
      .
    • Assist in all areas of full payroll processing and act as back up when needed.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Knowledge of common payroll and timekeeping practices and principles.
    • Expertise in numeric data entry.
    • High attention to detail.
    • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
    • Excellent written, verbal, and social communication skills.
    • Solid understanding of Microsoft Excel.
    • Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and tasks.
    • Attentive ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
    • Ability to work well within a team.
    • Provide high quality customer service.
    • Enthusiasm when it comes to learning new systems and ideas.
    • Previous time keeping experience preferred.
    • Experience working with 3rd party payroll provider. ADP, Ultipro, or other experience preferred.
