    Our expanding organization is seeking an experienced Billing Specialist to work in our corporate office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medical billing, with the skills necessary to improve our current billing procedures and reduce A/R days. The Billing Specialist will work on a number of tasks requiring data analysis, in-depth evaluation and exercising judgement within the appropriate scope of practice.


    • Enters information necessary for insurance claims such as patient, insurance ID, diagnosis and CPT codes, and provider information. Ensures claim information is complete and accurate
    • Submits claims to clearinghouse or individual insurance companies electronically
    • Follows up insurance company on unpaid or rejected claims. Resolves issue and re-submits claims
    • Prepares appeal letters to insurance carrier when not in agreement with claim denial. Collect necessary information to accompany appeal
    • Periodically creates insurance aging reports using the medical practice billing software; Identifies unpaid claims
    • Verifies members' benefit eligibility and coverage


    Education Requirements:

    • High School Diploma; associates degree preferred

    Required Skills and Abilities:

    • 2+ years’ experience in billing
    • High level of proficiency with MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Track record of working well under pressure and meeting tight deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment
    • Consistently demonstrates high level of professionalism and confidentiality
    • ICD-10/CPT Code Knowledge a plus
